Bangalore At last

Whew, I finally made it to Bangalore....I think I had enough of Hyderabad...that heat of 30C+ was getting to me...but once having landed here...I realized the heat was everywhere....and they tell me it's been getting hotter gradually in Bangalore every year. My cousin Nilou who had already departed from Hyderabad was at the airport with the driver....originally my aunt was just going to send the driver. When I asked how we would recognize each other...she offered to give me his description. Very dark with black hair and a big tummy! is what she said. I said give him a piece of paper with my name written on it...and that would be easier...and that's what they did...I also heard my cousin call out my name from the sidelines...and so started my adventure in Bangalore.

It took us an hour to get home from the airport...and this car had only "natural" airconditioning, if you get my drift...so the journey was hot and long...Nilou and I chatted all the way...the road in is not as pretty as in Hyderabad..the guy selling guavas in a basket on his head had me tempted to buy some...and then atlast we were home.

The garden is in a blaze of colours...and lots and lots of butterflies...I met all the people gathered and sipped on some "nimboo pani" (lemonade) My Aunt Lilla looked terribly frail but happy to see me...and we were off to a good start. I explored the old house, where Bubly has had extensive renovations done. The bathrooms have all been revamped and I met the staff...the only familiar one was Azim, the little man with the beard...whose chief job seems to be to run to open the gate...I think he does some gardening as well...although cleaning in the garden is what he does more of. I enjoyed sitting in the front portico with the cane furniture. We had a lovely lunch and some friends of Aunties also joined us....there was lots of food and plenty of desserts.

I was tired though...had woken up around 5 am that morning and was happy to get some sleep. I think I would have enjoyed myself better had I been better rested.

My pearl of wisdom: Get your rest..and things will go better.
